Alexandre Barrette is a comedian and television personality who hosts several television game shows that air on the V television network. The notable shows include French Canadian versions of “Cash Cab,” “Taxi Payant,” and “Atomes Crochus.” From 2005 to 2007, Barrette animated the Mercredis Juste Pour Rire evenings that featured promising as well as emerging comedians. He was announced as the “Discovery of the Year” at the Les Olivier Gala in 2007.
Alexandre Barrette delivered a weekly column in 2008 to Midi Morency, who hosted a show on the CKOI-FM and Pour le Plaisir, who hosted Radio-Canada. He has also written and acted in some radio and television commercials. He distinguished himself in the summer of 2009 at Juste pour rire during the Gala by Florence Foresti. Barrette offers humorous chronicles on witty inventions. In 2009, he began with a sustained presence on the radio as well as on the small screen, writing and filming the second season of Colocs TV. Barrette also took over the morning co-animation at CKOI and also participated in the Just for Laughs festival.
Barrette began working on his first-ever one-person show throughout 2011, in parallel with the Atomes Crochus and the third season of the Taxi Payant. The premiere of his one-person show took place on February 14, 2012.
