Aaron Aryanpur Information
Stand-up comedian, artist, and voice actor Aaron Aryanpur hails from Dallas, Texas. He loved socially conscious comedians like George Carlin and Bill Hicks when he was younger. He received his degree in graphic design from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000. He designed the flame-haired humanoid comet known as Temoc, the university's mascot, in 1998. Blaze was the comet's original moniker. Aryanpur began doing stand-up in 2002, and in 2013 she started working as a comedian full-time.
A first for Indian-American stand-ups, Raj Sharma and Paul Varghese, invited him to join their Indians at the Improv tour in 2002. Although Aryanpur is of Iranian heritage rather than Indian descent, he was invited because, as he playfully remarked in an interview, "they went around for Indian comics and ran out after only two." Still, the tour's concept required a third.
He placed in the semifinals of both NBC's Stand Up for Diversity and Comedy Central's 2013 nationwide Up Next Talent Search.
He frequently appeared as a performer on the Fox TV show Laughs. In addition to comic events, including South by Southwest, Gilda's LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dallas Comedy Festival, Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival, and Plano Comedy Festival, he routinely performs in clubs across the United States as well as on cruise ships.
