The University of Virginia's men's basketball program competes on an intercollegiate level as the Virginia Cavaliers. This institution is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Since then, the squad has amassed 11 ACC championships, good for third all-time. From 2012 to 2019, four of the five ACC teams that went 16-2 or better in conference play were from Virginia. Virginia holds the record for the longest ongoing streak among active ACC programs, with 12 consecutive winning seasons as of 2023.
