The Frozen Confines Information
The Frozen Confines will include three Big Ten men's hockey games and a WCHA women's game at Wrigley Field on January 3-4, 2025. On the weekend of January 3–4, 2025, at Wrigley Field, there will be the Frozen Confines, including a women's WCHA game and three men's Big Ten hockey games.
Live coverage of all four games can be found on Big Ten Network. Last year, four teams from the Great Lakes State—Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin—were included in the national rankings. All six schools have participated in the NCAA tournament at some point since 2022, with Michigan reaching the Final Four three times in a row.
In women's college basketball, Ohio State and Wisconsin have won a combined five titles and have faced each other in the previous two NCAA finals. On December 31st, the 2024 NHL Winter Classic—the second to take place at Wrigley Field—will be followed by a collegiate hockey weekend. The game will be played between the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks.
