Saskatchewan Roughriders Information
Regina, Saskatchewan, is home to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, a professional football club in Canada. The Roughriders play in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Regina Rugby Club, the original name of the Roughriders, dates back to 1910.
Even though they weren't the pioneers in Western Canada, Saskatchewan has maintained a consistent organizational structure from the beginning. According to the team's announcement, Corey Mace was named the 48th head coach of the Riders on November 30, 2023. This is Mace's first head coaching position; he departed the Toronto Argonauts organization after two years as defensive coordinator to accept the position.
Marc Mueller, a Regina product, was one of Mace's first hires as head coach. Mueller had worked under Mace's tutelage in Calgary. Kent Maugeri, already in his seventh season with the club, will continue as special teams coordinator, as was previously confirmed. Along with his responsibilities as head coach, the Riders announced in early 2024 that Mace would also be the team's defensive coordinator.
