NFR Breakaway Roping is one of the hottest American events sanctioned by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA). The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) has worked with WPRA to promote breakaway roping and grow this unique sport. It is a three-day event with a $200,000 purse. It is attended by some of the best cowgirls in rodeo.
NFR Breakaway Roping is working hard to carry out its tremendous growth in both fans and competitors. Many other rodeos have included the event to theirs, such as Wyoming’s Cheyenne Frontier Days in July of 2019. It is said that NFR Breakaway Roping has come a long way with the help of the WPRA, the PRCA, and the rodeo committee’s cooperation.
