Montreal Victoire Information
The Montreal is a professional ice hockey club for female players from Montreal, Quebec. In the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), they were one of the original six clubs.
Montreal was chosen as the site of one of the PWHL's initial six clubs on August 29, 2023. The squad's new general manager, Daniele Sauvageau, was introduced on September 1. Sauvageau has experience coaching the Canadian national team.
The club's initial coach was announced on September 13 by Kori Cheverie, who had previously worked as an assistant coach for the Canadian national team and was the first woman to lead a men's hockey squad in Canada.
On September 5, 2023, Montréal signed Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, and Ann-Renee Desbiens, the first three players. All three were members of the Canadian national team.
The squad picked fifteen players in the 2023 PWHL Draft on September 18. Erin Ambrose, a member of the Canadian national team, was the first player selected, going sixth overall.
