Miami Hurricanes Baseball Information
The University of Miami baseball team, known as the Hurricanes, competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. With 25 trips to the CWS, four titles (1982, 1985, 1999, and 2001), and 44 straight trips to the NCAA regionals (from 1973 to 2016), the program has been a mainstay of college baseball's upper echelon since 1973. Miami has won 29 regional championships, hosted 27 regionals, and has been a regional host in its four national title appearances.
The university's baseball team joined the other varsity sports programs in 2004–05 by joining the Atlantic Coast Conference. Despite the school's membership in the Big East Conference for other sports, the baseball team had previously competed as an NCAA independent. The 2008 ACC Baseball Championship was Miami's first-ever collegiate baseball championship.
College Factual's 2021 ranking of Florida colleges for prospective NCAA Division I baseball players placed the University of Miami at the top. The Hurricanes play their home games in Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field on the University of Miami campus in Coral Gables. Since 2019, the team has been led by Gino DiMare. The mascot, "Miami Maniac," represents the team.
