One such professional ice hockey club is the Knoxville Ice Bears. The SPHL is where this squad competes. They call the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in Tennessee home for their home games. Throughout their history, the Ice Bears have reached the postseason each year—the Ice BPresident'se 2006 President's Cup with a victory over the Florida Seals. In 2007–08 and 2008–09, the Ice Bears won the PresidePresident'sampionship in consecutive years.
By their 4th PresidePresident'she Ice Bears swept the 2015 SPHL Finals and beat the Mississippi River Kings 4-2 on April 18, 2015. The Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Huntsville Generals announced their partnership on October 9, 2012. On October 20, a preseason game will be played at Bridgestone Arena, the home ice of the Predators. Season ticket holders for the Ice Bears were not charged for the event.
After a six-year absence, the Ice Bears finally broke the drought on April 18, 2015, by winning their fourth Presidents Cup. After winning his previous five playoff starts while allowing fewer than two goals per game, Bryan Hince of the Ice Bears was named the SPHL Playoffs MVP. The club decided not to extend coach Mike CraigenCraigen'sct on May 15, 2017. After that, in June, the Ice Bears introduced Jeff Carr as their new head coach.
