Jake Joseph Paul (January 17, 1997) is a YouTuber and professional boxer born in Cleveland, Ohio. Before starring as Dirk Mann for two seasons on Bizaardvark on Disney Channel, he first became famous on Vine.
Paul's professional boxing career began in August 2018 when he scored a fifth-round technical knockout victory over British YouTuber Deji Olatunji in an amateur bout. Paul defeated YouTuber AnEsonGib via first-round technical knockout after turning professional in January 2020.
Paul defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson, MMA veteran Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva in 2020 and 2022. His first professional loss came in February 2023 when Tommy Fury delivered the SD knockout blow. A mixed martial fighter named Nate Diaz was defeated unanimously in August 2023.
Forbes published their list of the highest-paid athletes in May 2022, and Paul was one of them. According to Forbes, Paul earned an estimated $38 million from his three boxing fights and other sources.
Paul co-founded "Betr" with Joey Levy, founder of Simplebet, in August 2022. The firm specializes in sports media and mobile betting. Paul says he got $50 million in series project financing. He co-founded and competed in the new pay-per-view category called Super Fight and officially became the "head of fighter advocacy" after signing a multi-year deal with the Professional Fighters League in January 2023.
