The men's basketball squad from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida, USA, is known as the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Currently, they are participating in the ASUN Conference as a school. Florida Gulf Coast joined NCAA Division II as an independent member in 2002. 

Dave Balza was the head coach of the Florida Gulf Coast men's basketball team from its inception in 2002–03 through the 2010–11 season. Andy Enfield, who was in charge from 2011 to 2013, became the first 15-seed to go to the Sweet Sixteen with the Eagles. 

Enfield took the men's basketball coaching job at USC after making FGCU famous under their new "Dunk City" name. From 2013 to 2018, Joe Dooley was in charge before taking over as head coach at East Carolina. Pat Chambers, formerly of Penn State, succeeded Michael Fly as head coach in 2022. Fly had been in charge from 2018 to that year. 

After applying for temporary Division I classification in 2006, Florida Gulf Coast became one in 2007–08. Full Division Florida Gulf Coast membership was made on August 11, 2011.
