FC Juarez Information
Fútbol Club Juárez, also known as Bravos de Juárez, is a football team from Mexico that plays in Liga MX and is headquartered in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Two families from the border city of El Paso, Texas, and four families from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, came together in 2015 to form Fútbol Club Juárez. This made them one of the rare clubs in Mexican football with foreign investors, and it also marked the first time Ciudad Juárez had professional sports.
The 2017–18 Ascenso MX season saw Juárez named as one of six teams that may be promoted to Liga MX the following year. The 2017 Apertura season saw Juárez's second straight final defeat, this time at the hands of Alebrijes de Oaxaca in a penalty shootout.
After the founding bi-national organization bought the faltering Lobos BUAP club on June 11, 2019, Juárez took over, bringing top-level football back to Ciudad Juárez. Since the 2019 USL Championship's El Paso Locomotive season got underway, the two teams have created a friendly cross-border rivalry.
