The Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo is an annual event in Elizabeth, Colorado that brings the town together to celebrate its Western heritage. It began in 1966 and has since become one of the top small-town rodeos in the country. Every summer, fans and riders from all over come together to take part in the fun. The rodeo features exciting events like bull riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling. The Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo brings people together every summer for a weekend full of fun and tradition.
There’s something for everyone, from the exciting rodeo action to local food, music, and games. Families enjoy walking through the vendor booths, kids have a blast watching the animals and participating in activities, and everyone lines up to see the parade roll through downtown, featuring horses, floats, and smiling faces. Many people from the community contribute, with hundreds of volunteers working behind the scenes. The event also honors the military with a special rodeo performance called “Red, White, and Blue.”
In 2025, the Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo took place from June 5 to June 8 at Casey Jones Park. The weekend kicked off with a concert by country singer Chase Rice. The next few days were packed with rodeo events and family fun. Thousands of people came to enjoy the shows and cheer for their favorite riders. The Stampede continues to improve every year and remains a special part of the summer for the town and its visitors.
