Devin Miles Haney is an American professional boxer born in San Francisco, California. Haney was set to engage the Filipino Harmonito Dela Torre in an eight-round first round on February 2, 2018. Dela Torre was unable to compete because of visa issues. When it became clear that we couldn't find a suitable opponent, we called off the date. On January 11, 2019, Haney won a unanimous decision after ten rounds against a tough opponent, Xolisani Ndongeni.
On October 2, 2020, it was announced that on November 7, 2020, Haney would make the second defense of his WBC lightweight title, this time against former unified featherweight titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa. The fight went down at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and was shown on DAZN. In line with the widespread expectation of an easy victory for the defending champion, most bookmakers installed Haney as a -5000 betting favorite.
Haney defended his undisputed lightweight championships against former unified lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko on May 20, 2023, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, U.S.A., as announced on March 29, 2023.
