Allen Americans Information
The Allen Americans, which competes in the ECHL, are a professional ice hockey team based at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. They won the Ray Miron President's Cup twice during their five seasons of play in the Central Hockey League (CHL) after being created in 2009.
The Central Hockey League (CHL) dissolved in 2014, and the surviving CHL franchises joined the Eastern Conference (ECHL) for the 2014–15 season. Both of Allen's first seasons in the ECHL ended with championships in the Kelly Cup. Chad Costello and President Jonny Mydra are the team's leaders. The Americans' current affiliations include the American Hockey League's Belleville Senators and the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators.
The Americans announced on August 24, 2022, that they had agreed to join the Ottawa Senators' (NHL) Eastern Conference affiliate and the Belleville Senators' (AHL) American Hockey League affiliate. In the latter part of that offseason, they inked the first big broadcast agreement for the organization, a deal with Dallas TV station CW33.
Following their first-round playoff victory over the Kansas City Mavericks in 2022–23, the Americans ended the regular season in second place in the Mountain Division. Hank Crone, a rookie, was named the most valuable player of the Eastern Conference regular season, and the club broke their own record for season ticket sales. The franchise was sold to Myles Jack and his mother, LaSonjia Jack, on October 4, 2023. They became the first-ever majority owners in the history of the Eastern Conference Hockey League.
