ACCHL College Hockey Tournament Information
The ACCHL is a college ice hockey league in the southeast and mid-Atlantic United States that is not affiliated with the NCAA. The Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League aims to offer university student-athletes in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States a way to play competitive ice hockey at the collegiate level without incurring the astronomical costs associated with NCAA play. Michael Walley currently holds League Executive Director duties.
With the Admiral's Cup at stake, eight M2 teams compete in the ACCHL postseason competition. The M3 Upper Division comprises the top eight teams, while the M3 Lower Division has the top four. The Commodore Cup is contested by the top four teams in the women's division. The current tournament uses a composite scoring system that awards points for winning periods (2 points each period), complete games (4 points = W, 2 points = OT/SOW, 1 point = OT/L, and 0 points = L), and a skills competition (varying by event). A final score is calculated by adding up all of the individual scores.
