David Nesta "Ziggy" Marley (October 17, 1968) is a reggae artist from Jamaica. His parents, Bob Marley and Rita Marley, are legendary reggae musicians. Until 2002, he was the frontman for Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, a family band with eight studio albums under their belt. After the band broke up, Tuff Gong Worldwide was Ziggy's record company, and he went on to release eight studio albums as a solo artist.
Ziggy follows in his dad's footsteps by independently recording and distributing his songs. Marley has been honored with eight Grammys and one Daytime Emmy. Following its usage in the Cbeebies cartoon 3rd & Bird, Marley's 2013 single "I Love You Too" was nominated for an Outstanding Original Song—Children's and Cartoon Daytime Emmy.
In addition to the song, Ziggy released an illustrated children's book called "I Love You Too" by Agnieszka Jatkowska. The fifth studio album by Ziggy Marley, Fly Rasta, came out in April 2014. The Best Reggae Album Grammy went to Fly Rasta at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Ziggy Marley, Marley's sixth solo album, was later announced for release in the spring of 2016.
