Young Bombs Information
Young Bombs is a Canadian electronic music duo. The current lineup consists of Martin Kottmeier and Tristan Norton. The two started playing music together and ultimately relocated to Los Angeles to become members of a pop artist's supporting band. A little later, they relocated back to Vancouver and began penning jingles, including one for Pizza Hut. A shared interest in indie rock inspired the pair's first creative endeavor: a band. Young Bombs is a reference to a band they and another friend briefly fronted.
After Kottmeier's interest in electronic dance music (EDM), the two musicians decided to specialize in it. Young Bombs desired a new direction after years of producing popular remixes. Their rationale was something like this: "As an artist, you want a song to be your own and have your followers connect with your creativity." The group's first original single, "Starry Eyes," was released in March 2019 and peaked at No. 20 on the Canada Top 40 Chart. When they signed with Astralwerks, this was the first album we put out. Don't Let Them," Young Bombs' second single, was released in May 2019.
In October 2019, they dropped the single "Better Day" featuring Aloe Blacc, which peaked at No. 16 on the Canada Top 40 list. They claim it has a worldwide message that people can relate to no matter where they are from, and Young Bombs say Aloe was their first choice to feature in the song. The two performed together on the main stage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida, the same year. To date (as of April 2019), Young Bombs have dropped about 85 remixes.
