yeule Information
Yeule is the musical project of Singaporean songwriter and producer Nat Cmiel. Natasha Yelin Chang, aka "Miel," was born in Singapore, where she later went to college. At six, she began learning to play music on the Yamaha piano her parents owned. She took classical lessons for a while but eventually stopped because she wanted to try something more demanding, like playing guitar or drums. Miel began with waltz tunes but quickly transitioned to music from the Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts soundtracks. On March 3, 2014, Miel released her self-titled EP as their debut as Yeule.
The second EP by Miel was titled Pathos, published on December 11, 2016, as a tribute to David Singh. On July 17, 2017, Miel published the original soundtrack to the interactive simulator game Lost Memories Dot Net. Miel's third extended play, Coma, was published on September 27, 2017. "I wrote this record to honor the individuals I'd lost," she stated regarding the EP, praised by critics, including Duncan Cooper of The Fader, who called it "dream-pop perfection." On July 17, 2019, Miel inked a contract with Bayonet Records.
By releasing a song titled "My Name is Nat Miel," Miel have hinted at the impending release of their second album Glitch Princess on Bayonet Records at the end of 2020. The complete album was released on February 4, 2022.
