Yesterday and Today Information
Yesterday & Today, or Y&T, is an American hard rock and heavy metal band. The current lineup of the group includes Dave Meniketti (lead vocals and lead guitar), John Nymann (backing vocals and rhythm guitar), Mike Vanderhule (drums and backing vocals), and Aaron Leigh (bass and backing vocals). To date, the group has sold over 4 million albums around the world.
Yesterday & Today released its self-titled debut album and “Struck Down,” their second album, in 1976 and 1978. The albums were released on London Records, and shortly after their release, the band began touring extensively. They were soon opening for big bands such as Kiss, AC/DC, and Wild Cherry.
Yesterday & Today has worked with many record labels throughout their career, including London Records, A&M Records, Universal Records, Geffen Records, Metal Blade Records, Avex Records, Hip-O Records, and Frontiers Records. The band has released several notable studio albums since playing music such as Earthshaker (1981), Black Tiger (1982), Mean Streak (1983), In Rock We Trust (1984), Down for the Count (1985), Contagious (1987), Ten (1990), Musically Incorrect (1995), Endangered Species (1997), Facemelter (2010), and Acoustic Classic Vol. 1 (2018).
Y&T also released a few live albums so far, such as In Concert (1984), Open Fire (1985), Yesterday & Today Live (1991), BBC in Concert: Live on the Friday Rock Show (2000) and Live at the Mystic (2012).
