Years and Years Information
Years & Years is a one-man band. Years & Years is a band that formed in 2010 and plays a style of music that has been categorized as electropop, with influences ranging from R&B to house from the '90s. Communion, the band's first studio album, was released in July 2015 and quickly became the best-selling first album by a UK-based band that month.
The lead song "King" from their album Communion peaked in the top 10 in Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Switzerland, and it reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in March 2015. Their album's hit "Shine" peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart.
Both "Sanctify" and "If You're Over Me" were released as singles off their upcoming second studio album, Palo Santo, which was revealed in April 2018. The album, set in a bleak future when humans are a minority among robot-like entities called Androids, was released in July of this year.
A third Years & Years album was confirmed in the works in March 2021. Goldsworthy and Türkmen's departures were also announced on the same day, with the band advancing as Alexander's solo project.
