The rest of the world seems to fall away as the early morning sun makes its way through the verdant woodlands and out over the cresting waves of the Pacific Ocean. Jordan Topf spent his childhood in that beautiful setting, and even though he has been all over the world performing with a wide variety of bands and writing and producing music for other artists, he has never been able to shake the feeling that Santa Cruz will always be his home.
Therefore, when he decided to take advantage of the seclusion afforded by the pandemic by relocating to a property in Northern California to produce solo material, the subject matter came flooding back to him. Topf decided to call the project Windser after the street he grew up on after he had finished writing the tracks that would comprise his debut release and were being recorded. By delving further into his past, he recalled that his father once referred to Santa Cruz as "Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea."
