Vegyn Information
Joseph Winger Thornalley is a British graphic designer, DJ, and music producer. He is professionally known by his stage name, Vegyn. He was born in London, England. Encouraged by other musicians, he taught himself to compose boom-bap beats and started performing in 2013. He was studying design at the London College of Communication at the time.
After dropping out of school to pursue music full-time, he founded the electronic label PLZ Make It Ruins, under which he released his debut extended play All Bad Things Have Ended - Your Lunch Included, as well as a compilation tape featuring underground London producers titled PLZ Vol. 1. Also around this time, he was at a 1-800 Dinosaur show at the defunct London club Plastic People and met fellow music producer James Blake. Vegyn presented him with a USB containing his Vegyn-branded musical creations. After that, in 2014, Blake performed these songs on BBC Radio.
Vegyn worked on Blonde and Endless in the studio after meeting Frank Ocean at the Plastic People club. In 2019, he will perform at one of his PREP+ nights in New York, and in 2017, he presented Ocean's Blonded Radio. Since then, Vegyn has worked with artists like Aminé and Travis Scott on albums like Astroworld and All My Heroes Are Cornballs, respectively. Text While Driving If You Want to Meet God!, a 71-track mixtape, and Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds, his first studio album, were published in 2019.
