Vanesa Martin Information
Vanesa Martin Mata (November 14, 1980) is a Spanish poet, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Malaga, Spain. Her father bought her first guitar when she was six, and she was hooked on playing. Afterward, she opted to learn guitar through cores rocieros and quickly began penning her first songs. She began performing at Málaga area venues and on Málaga area, television and radio shows at the tender age of fifteen.
She moved to Madrid at the end of 2003 after earning her degree in teaching and pedagogy from the University of Malaga. Her early concerts took place at the bar El Taburete. After being discovered in 2005, she was signed by EMI Music Spain, and her debut album, Agua, was released on June 15, 2006. Carlos Jean produced the record, and Ral Quiones directed the accompanying music video. Jean Roche, Jean Madrid, and RedLed S.A. all contributed to recording this in the studio. The CD featured 12 of her original compositions.
Among the new tracks on the 2007 reissue are a duet version of "Durmiendo sola" with David DeMara and "Lluvia," originally recorded for the original album but never released. She did a concert tour across most of Spain to celebrate the release of her debut album. She wrote songs for Manuel Lombo, India Martinez, Maria Toledo, and Pastora Soler in the following years.
