Uncle Ben Remedy is an American band that has roots in small towns west of New York. Uncle Ben Remedy learned to play and sing in this small town atmosphere. Their music has a “back porch feel” that so many love about country music. The band currently includes Jimmy Royce, Brendan O’Connor, Shawn Huestis, Harmony Griffin, and Ben Westlund.
In 2015, Uncle Ben Remedy released its debut extended play album entitled “Yesterday’s Clothes.” Later on, the band released its first full-length album in April 2016, named “Not Far From the Tree.” This release brought success for the group and drove local airplay for their single, “Fire in the Field.” The album sold its first 2,500 copies much sooner than expected.
In the summer of 2014, Uncle Ben Remedy won the Battle of the Bands in Buffalo at the Canalside Concert Series. The group also won the 2015 Battle of Original Music (BOOM) competition. The band has been sharing the stage with many notable artists such as July Talk, Gaslight Anthem, Cake, Artimus Pyle, Big Damn Band of Reverend Peyton, Frank Turner, Lake Street Dive, Pure Prairie League, and Shooter Jennings.
