Ty Herndon Information
Boyd Tyrone Herndon (May 2, 1962) is an American singer from Meridian, Mississippi, who plays country music. He was raised in his parents' hometown of Butler, Alabama, and graduated from Austin High School. Herndon developed an interest in music as a teenager and soon moved to Nashville to pursue a music career. After ten years, he again moved to Texas and started to work as the lead vocalist of the Tennessee River Boys (later renamed to Diamond Rio). Soon Herndon left the band to compete on Star Search in 1985.
Boyd Tyrone Herndon won Texas Entertainer of the Year in 1993 and was signed to Epic Records. He debuted in 1995 with the song named "What Mattered Most." The single hit number one on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. "I Want My Goodbye Back" was the second single in this album that also peaked at number 7 on country charts.
Some of the other notable albums by Herndon are Living in a Moment (1996), Big Hopes (1998), Steam (1999), Right About Now (2007), Journey On (2010), Lies I Told Myself (2013), House on Fire (2016), and Got It Covered (2019). Some of his hit singles are "No Mercy," "A Man Holdin' On (To a Woman Lettin' Go)," "It Must Be Love," and "Hands of a Working Man."
Herndon has prioritized raising money for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Special Olympics, and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program.
