Trey Lewis (1987) is an American country music singer born in Birmingham, Alabama. He received major prominence soon after his self-released single entitled “Dicked Down in Dallas” came out. Lewis has aspired to become a country music singer since he was a child. He cites Garth Brooks as his early musical influence. Lewis was an alcohol addict as a teenager; he had never played guitar till then. When he went through rehabilitation for alcohol addiction, he picked up the guitar and started playing while also working at a smoothie shop.
Later on, Lewis moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his music career, performing at local bars and write his songs. He met well-known songwriters such as Drew Trosclair, Brent Gafford, and Matt McKinney. Together the songwriters gave him a song idea that they had called “Gone Back to Dallas.” They made some changes in the song and added references to sex acts, due to which they renamed the song “Dicked Down in Dallas.”
Grady Saxman and Alex Maxwell produced the studio version of the song. In 2020, the song gained more attention when fans began recording TikTok videos using the song. In December 2020, “Dicked Down in Dallas” reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
