Tracy Byrd Information
Tracy Lynn Byrd (December 17, 1966) is an American country music artis born in Vidor, Texas, and completed her high school education there in May 1985. He attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, for his first year of college and started his business studies at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State). While a student there, he sang with the Beaumont band Rimfire, led by Jeffrey and Dave Adams and featuring artists like Mark Chesnutt.
The 1992 release of "That's the Thing About a Memory" was Byrd's debut single. His 1993 breakthrough single "Holdin' Heaven" reached number one, but neither it nor its follow-up, "Someone to Give My Love To" (originally released in 1971 by Johnny Paycheck), made it into the Top 40. MCA released the self-titled debut album on April 27, 1993; this song was the third single. Though the album was certified gold by the RIAA, its last single, "Why Don't That Telephone Ring," only reached No. 39.
A live CD by Byrd and his band, The ByrdDawgs, recorded in June 2019 was released in November 2019. The album has nineteen tracks, all recorded at Billy Bob's Texas. November 2019 saw the DVD release featuring Byrd's June 2019 performance at Billy Bob's Texas. It has musical performances as well as interviews with Byrd.
