Town Mountain is an American raw and soulful band, which has earned raved reviews for their hard-driving sound, in-house songwriting, and their honky-tonk edge that permeates the band’s exhilarating live performances. The Town Mountain’s music base is the first and second generation of bluegrass spiced with old school rock ‘n’ roll and country. Town Mountain on stage and record reflects some of the wide-ranging influences such as Willie Nelson, the ethereal lyrics of Robert Hunter, and Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead.
Brian McElhiney of the Bend Bulletin says that Town Mountain has some serious rock ‘n’ roll DNA. The group’s current lineup consists of Robert Greer (guitarist and vocalist), Jesse Langlais (banjoist), Phil Barker (mandolinist), Bobby Britt (fiddler), and Zach Smith (bass). Town Mountain released its album named “New Freedom Blues” in October 2018, their second consecutive album that debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart. The album also received multiple worthy mentions by No Depression and Rolling Stone. The album features several well-known guest artists, including Miles Miller and Tyler Childers.
