Tor Miller (February 7, 1994) is an indie pop singer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City. After his parents' short divorce, Miller and his mother relocated to New Jersey, even though he continued attending the same New York City school. Miller's interest in music began when his mother handed him albums by artists like David Bowie, Elton John, and Fleetwood Mac to listen to on the long car ride.
His folks arranged for him to take piano lessons from "a laid-back New Jersey wedding singer," and that's how he got his start in music. Miller's vocal and songwriting skills progressed from there. He formed an alternative rock/pop group while still in high school. Tor Miller attended New York University's Clive Davis School of Recorded Music when he was 18. On the weekends, he could perform piano at East Village hotspots like Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, and the Slipper Room, a burlesque club.
Miller left New York University due to scheduling conflicts and soon after contracted with the independent label Glassnote Records. (especially since he played music in several NYC venues). In February 2015, he released his first Headlights EP, which featured four tracks. The song "Midnight" received a lot of praise from critics. On September 30, 2016, he dropped his first record, American English.
