Tommy James Information
Tommy James (April 29, 1947) is an American pop rock musician, record producer, songwriter, and singer. He is widely known as the rock band’s leader called “Tommy James and the Shondells.” James was born in Dayton, Ohio, and then moved to Niles, Michigan. He was also a child model at the age of four. At the age of twelve, James formed the band called “The Echoes.” The band, later on, became “Tom and the Tornadoes.”
James has released several studio albums throughout his career as a singer and songwriter. His debut album was a self-titled album that was released in 1970. The album was released on Roulette Records. James eventually decided to go solo and began his solo career with two further Billboard Hot 100 top 20 chart hits with “Draggin’ the Line.” Bob King co-wrote it. The other album was “Three Times in Love.” He also released eleven much smaller Hot 100 chartings. The interesting thing about James is that over 300 musicians have recorded versions of his music to date.
James became a host of a weekly radio program named “Getting Together with Tommy James.” He can also be seen on late-night infomercials, such as selling collections of music from the Woodstock era for Time-Life.
Some of his studio albums that he released as a solo artist include Christian of the World (1971), My Head, My Bed, and My Red Guitar (1971), In Touch (1976), Midnight Rider (1977), Three Times in Love (1979), Hi-Fi (1990), The Solo Years (1991), Discography Deals and Demos (1994), Hold the Fire (2006), I Love Christmas (2008), Alive (2019), and a few more.
