Todd Snider Information
Todd Daniel Snider (October 11, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee. He is well-known because of his music style that combines Americana, folk, and alt-country. His music is also defined as folk-rock and roots rock. Snider was born in Portland, Oregon, but later moved to Houston, Texas, with his family. At the age of 15, Snider ran away from his home along with a friend and went back to his birth land. After completing his high school, Snider moved to Santa Rosa, California, to be a harmonica player.
Snider moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in the mid-1980s, and established a residency at a club known as the Daily Planet from where he was discovered by Keith Sykes (a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band). In 1994, Snider released his debut album entitled Songs for the Daily Planet on MCA. Some of the minor hits included in that album were "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues," "refused to play," and "Alright Guy." His first album was followed by two more albums entitled Step Right Up and Viva Satellite.
Some of his other notable discographies include Happy to Be Here, New Connection, Near Truths and Hotel Rooms, East Nashville Skyline, That Was Me: The Best of Todd Snider 1994–1998, Peace Love and Anarchy (Rarities, B-Sides, & Demos, Vol. 1), The Devil You Know DVD, Todd Snider Live: The Storyteller, Time as We Know It: The Songs of Jerry Jeff Walker, Cash Cabin Sessions, Vol 3, and the list goes on.
I Never Met a Story I Didn't Like is his only publication that was published by Da Capo Press in 2014.
