Todd Rundgren Information
Todd Harry Rundgren (June 22, 1948) is an American record producer, singer, songwriter, and musician born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rundgren started performing professionally in the mid-1960s, and in 1967, he formed the psychedelic band Nazz. "We Gotta Get You a Woman" (1970) was his first US top 40 success after he quit Nazz to pursue a solo career, which he did two years later. His greatest hits are "Hello It's Me" and "I Saw the Light" from Something/Anything? (1972), which features his music.
He visited the Library of Congress on October 21, 2019, to autograph a braille copy that a blind patron and supporter of the National Library Service for the Blind & Print Disabled had made for him. As part of the "It Was Fifty Years Ago Today - A Tribute to the Beatles' White Album" tour, Rundgren had the pleasure of performing alongside Badfinger's Joey Molland, Christopher Cross, Jason Scheff, and Micky Dolenz in late 2019.
In 2020, Rundgren released the track "Down With The Ship" in collaboration with Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of the band Weezer. The original 1978 song "Flappie" was performed by Dutch comedian Youp van 't Hek. In December, he released his English translation of the tune. He released the track "Your Fandango" in April of that year, marking a reunion with Sparks after 50 years of producing their debut album.
