Tim Hicks Information
Tim Hicks is a country music singer and songwriter from St. Catharines, Ontario, who started taking music lessons at six years old. Hicks attended lessons from the Ontario Conservatory of Music in Niagara Falls and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BA in Psychology in 2002. Hicks spent much of his spare time playing music at open mic nights in the Waterloo Region.
Early on in his career, Hicks successfully built a loyal and dedicated fan base in Niagara's home town. While playing at the local pubs, he was discovered by Open Road Recordings. Hicks signed a record deal in 2011 and got a chance to open for Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee on the “Boys Of Fall" tour, which took place in 2012.
Throw Down was the debut album by Hicks released in 2013. The album featured his debut single "Get By," which earned platinum certification. The song also landed in the Top 10 at Country Radio in less than eight weeks and turned out to be Hicks' first Gold single. Some of his other notable singles are “Stronger Beer,” “Young, Alive and in Love,” "Got a Feeling," "Here Comes the Thunder," and "Stompin' Ground."
Hicks released many notable albums throughout his career, such as 5:01, Shake These Walls, New Tattoo, and a few more. He won many awards for his talent, including the 2014 Canadian Country Music Association, Country Music Association of Ontario, and 2019 Canada Music Week's Live Music Awards.
