Tim Farrell (January 12, 1980) is an American guitarist, performer, composer, and educator born in Tarzana, California. He went to USC film school and graduated in 1989. Farrell has performed internationally at several festivals, concerts, private events, benefits, and corporate events. He is one of only four artists who were honored as one of the 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists. He also won Best Instrumental in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
The fingerstyle playing of Farrell, along with the original compositions, results in elegant simplicity. With the help of this, Farrell celebrates the purity of the acoustic guitar at the next level. He is a rare kind of musician who can both entertain and inspire the audience and the future generations of players. His notable work can be seen in The Walking Dead (2010), Star Trek: Short Treks (2018), and Crash (2004).
Farrell was juried for 13 consecutive years, on to the famous artist roster of Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour (PennPAT). He also teaches at the Conservatory in Doylestown, PA. Farrell is also the founder of the Stretched Strings Concert and Workshop Series. He received airplay internationally on internet radio, broadcast radio, and satellite radio, including many famous syndicated programs like iTunes Radio, LaNote Picking, Echoes, and The World Café.
