The Vindys is stated to be one of the most sought after, premier bands in Northeast Ohio. The band is well-known for its unique blend of pop, jazz, and rock. The current lineup of the Vindys includes Jackie Popovec on lead vocals and guitar; Matt Jackson on bass; John Anthony on guitar and harmony vocals; Ed Davis on drums and harmony vocals; and Rick Deak on guitar and harmony vocals. The group’s lineup is “a vibrant slice of vintage pop theatre,” according to Music Connection Magazine. The Vindicator and Guy D’Astolfo also described the band as “slinky, sultry, and jazzy.”
The Vindys is a group of classically trained musicians from the distinguished Dana School of Music, Capital University Conservatory of Music, Slippery Rock University, and Mike Curb College of Music. The Vindys combine their polished skills and experiences, which resulted in a depth and maturity in their musical style.
One of the hit songs released by the Vindys is “Are You Ready.” This song was shot at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille in Warrendale, and it was later shown on “Friday Night Rocks.” The band also performed at a wide variety of notable festivals, including Winnetka Music Festival, LaureLive, and Summerfest. At Summerfest, the Vindys earned the first day of the Emerging Artist Series selected by the Twitter voters.
Additionally, The Vindys has shared the stage with several nationally recognized performers including Marty Stuart, Red Wanting Blue, Welshly Arms, Michael Stanely, and the Resonators, The Drive-By Truckers, Hunter Hayes, Donnie Iris, and the Cruisers, Reeve Carney, The Clarks, and Judah & the Lion.
