The Steel Wheels Information
The Steel Wheels are an American roots music and American group of folk musicians, based in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia. The band’s current lineup consists of Trent Wagler as a lead vocalist, guitarist, mountain banjo player, and the primary songwriter for The Steel Wheels. Kevin Jaoquin Garcia plays keyboards and percussion, while Eric Brubaker sings and plays fiddle for the band. Brian Dickel sings, plays electric bass and upright bass. Jay Lapp also sings, plays electric guitar, guitar, and mandolin.
The Steel Wheels is one of the bands that have played at clubs in the world, listening rooms, and prestigious festivals. They are also recognized as one of the top independent bands today. The band has appeared on numerous festivals all across America including Appalachian Uprising, Folk Alliance, the Smoky Hill River Fest, The Bristol Rhythm, the Kerrville Folk Festival, FloydFest, the Albino Skunk Music Festival, and Roots Festival.
The Steel Wheels added Sam Kassirer to its crew as they were to start working to produce their album entitled Wild as We Came Here in 2017. Kassirer was known because of working with Lake Street Dive and Josh Ritter. Their studio albums include Journal of a Barefoot Soldier by Trent Wagler (June 6, 2005, Dojo Records), Blue Heaven by Trent Wagler and The Steel Wheels (October 13, 2006), Adrienna Valentine by Trent Wagler and Jay Lapp (March 13, 2008), Red Wing (February 15, 2010), Uncloudy Day (May 10, 2010), Lay Down, Lay Low (March 5, 2012), Love Some Things Behind (April 14, 2015), and several others.
