The Soul Rebels Information
The Soul Rebels is an American brass ensemble. The Soul Rebels have gone from being a New Orleans institution to sharing the stage with such international superstars as Robert Glasper, GZA, Raekwon, Black Thought of The Roots, Rakim, Marilyn Manson, Slick Rick, Joey Badass, Trombone Shorty, Katy Perry, Nas, Metallica, Green Day, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and many more. The band has been successful thanks to its dynamic live performances, which feature horns and drums to create a groovy, party-like atmosphere.
The Soul Rebels have performed on CBS, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, HBO, TBS, NBC, NPR, ESPN, BBC Two, The CW, and on national and international stages. More than two hundred and fifty gigs a year are typical for the band. Since 2009, The Soul Rebels have been handled by music industry heavyweight Ted Kurland, operator of the prominent booking and management agency Ted Kurland Associates, Adam Shipley, president of Hep Cat Entertainment, and Alex Kurland of the Blue Note Entertainment Group.
Later, Jools Holland featured Metallica and Lou Reed in the same show that The Soul Rebels played, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" on BBC Two in December 2011. The Soul Rebels made such an impression on Metallica that they were invited to open and share the stage at all four of the band's shows during their 30th anniversary week at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
