In recent years, the Shins have been busy celebrating and releasing. They are out there now, coming on the 21st birthday tour for the "Oh Inverted World" in 2022. The tour included North America and the band played the entire album live, with fan favorites. Long-time fans found it a nostalgic trip, and many shows had a special guest, Joseph.
Looking ahead, the Shins will keep the wave rolling in 2024 with plans to hit the road to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Chutes Too Narrow sophomore album. In October 2024, the band released a remastered version of the album, bringing fans up to date with one of the band's most loved records. Frontman James Mercer told of the intense pressure felt while writing the album and revealed the creative process behind some of the band's best-known songs.
Fans of The Shins don't have to wait much longer to catch them in action. They will perform at a festival like the Garden State Soundtrack Anniversary Concert in 2025, where bands like Iron & Wine and Thievery Corporation will join them. The Shins stay fresh and interesting with new live shows and re-releases of old classic albums.
