The Piano Guys Information
The Piano Guys is a quartet from the U.S. that includes pianist Jon Schmidt, cellist Steven Sharp Nelson, filmmaker Paul Anderson, and music producer Al van der Beek. They are a Utah-based band that became famous after publishing piano and cello pieces on YouTube in 2011. These pieces fused elements of classical, pop, film score, and original music with intricate or cinematic visuals.
With over 6.7 million followers and over 2 billion views, the group's YouTube channel was a success by March 2020.
Anderson started the organization to promote his St. George, Utah, piano company, The Piano Guys, on social media. After working together in the music industry for many years, Schmidt was familiar with Nelson. While in town, Anderson would regularly drop by to play the pianos with Schmidt, a well-known pianist.
Following their signing, they released the gold-selling The Piano Guys in 2012, 2013's The Piano Guys 2 and A Family Christmas, and 2014's Wonders, which opened at No.12 on the Billboard 200 list. The band's fifth studio album, Uncharted, came out in 2016, and the following year, Christmas Together, their second Christmas album, was published.
In November 2018, Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks released their 7th album, Limitless. On November 20, 2020, commemorating their 10th anniversary and their 10th studio album to date, a new album named Ten was released.
