The Palms Information
The Palms is an American post-metal supergroup. The group's current lineup consists of Chino Moreno, Bryant Clifford Meyer, Aaron Harris, and Jeff Caxide. Caxide, Harris, and Meyer chose to keep making music after the dissolution of Isis in 2010. Later, Moreno chimed in as an Isis devotee who has long appreciated the band's ability to evoke certain feelings through music. I can't wait to share my creative energy with them and see what we develop together.
With Palms, Caxide, Harris, and Meyer could experiment musically in ways they couldn't with Isis. Ipecac Recordings, a label co-founded by Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle), released the group's self-titled debut album on June 25, 2013, a year later than initially planned. The album's recording and mixing were both handled by Harris. Moreno recorded his vocals at Harris' home studio while Harris tracked drums at Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins)'s House of Compression facility.
Palms played four concerts in California in July 2013 in support of their self-titled debut album. The music video for "Future Warrior" by Palms, produced by Jon Mancinetti, premiered online in September 2013. Antarctic Handshake was remixed by iconAclass/deadverse on May 27, 2014, and Ipecac Recordings published it. The band stated on June 27 that they would be touring the Southwest in the fall of 2014.
