The Other Favorites Information
The Other Favorites is one of the longtime duo project by Josh Turner and Carson McKee. The duo gained recognition for their performances on YouTube, and so far, the two of them have accumulated millions of views. The duo is currently based out of Brooklyn, New York. The Other Favorites are defined by their tight two-part harmonies, electric musical influence, and virtuosic acoustic guitar work. The group performs internationally and has independently released two albums thus far, one original music and the other being a live album. McKee and Turner have been working together for over 14 years, although they are still in their twenties. They first met during their 8th-grade talent show. They first performed in their hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
They gained substantial viewership on YouTube after they released a video in 2007 entitled “Wagon Wheel.” In 2011, the duo self-released their album entitled “Novelty” as they continued finding ways to make music together while attending universities in different states.
The Other Favorites received an invitation from Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell. The duo was brought to their attention because of the duo’s bluegrass-infused rendition of “Larger Than Life.” McKee and Turner moved to Brooklyn in 2016, where they joined singer and songwriter Bob Barrisk and created the band called “Kingdom Jasmine.” In 2017, the duo released the album “Armed & Dangerous” with Barrick. The Other Favorites all-time releases include Naysayer (2018), Fools EP (2017), and Live in London (2019).
