The Isaacs Information
The Isaacs are a bluegrass gospel band founded in 1971. The group comprises mother Lily Isaacs, son Ben Isaacs, daughters Becky and Sonya Isaacs, and John Bowman. Bowman plays as an instrumentalist and songwriter for the Isaacs. Joe Isaacs is a former singer and banjo player in the group who left in 1998. Thomas Wywrot was another member of the band who stayed from 2008 to 2011 and was replaced by Sonya Isaacs’ husband, Jimmy Yeary.
After the death of Joe’s brother, he, along with Lily, became Christians. They began a band which performed only bluegrass gospel music. The group’s former name was Calvary Mountain Boys, later changed to Sacred Bluegrass, and finally switched to the Isaacs. Isaacs moved from Morrow, Ohio, and settled down in LaFollette, Tennessee, in 1992.
