With a dance floor down the front for those who want it and Martini glasses and table service around the sides for those who have discovered them to be the perfect accompaniment to their late-night flirting, The Hamilton perform music that is both daring and amusing. While not having their heroes gush over them ("a total triumph on so many levels," Van Dyke Parks), the band is either being promoted by Glastonbury as part of the festival's Emerging Talent Competition or having N*Sync almost buy one of their songs off of them.
When Emma became mad at Tom (vocals/piano/guitar), she threw five phones at him, breaking them all. Tom is the type who returns CDs to the store. When Emma was a previous thief, Dennis Rodman told her, "hey, b***h, play some hip hop." Tom was once wrongly accused of initiating a gang conflict, and he sang backup vocals on Robbie Williams' new album.
The Hamiltons are the kind of band who will give in to a song's requests for a New Orleans sound, complete with hip-hop beats and electronic synths blended with folk and Everly Brothers harmonies. Tom produced Emma's 2012 debut album "La Musique," and the two have since been working together at Guy Chambers' studio to record their debut album as a full band. Together, they write, perform, and record everything, with Tom again taking care of arrangements and production. Abbey Road Studios is now hosting mastering by Adrian Hall (DuBlonde, Black Eyed Peas, Simply Red).
