The Ergs! Information
The Ergs! is an American punk rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Joey Erg, Jeff Erg, and Mikey Erg. In 2000, a group of Old Bridge High School students called the Flatliners (not to be confused with other bands with the same name) disbanded and started a new band called the Ergs! The group's members were uninterested in being labeled musical purists and shared a love of various styles. The band assembled two CD-Rs, titled f'n and Digital Endpoints, which they sold at their live performances in New Jersey.
The band's first full-length album was recorded with Chris Pierce at Technical Ecstasy Studios after several successful U.S. tour dates. Dorkrockcorkrod first appeared on CD on June 15, 2004, via Whoa Oh, with a vinyl edition following in 2005 via Don Giovanni Records. After gaining notoriety locally by playing to larger and more enthusiastic crowds, the band caught the attention of national figures like MC Chris, a hip-hop musician and contributor to Adult Swim.
In the summer of 2006, the Ergs! They brought their New Brunswick friends Hunchback on their Discover America Tour in support of their albums dorkrockcorkrod, Jersey's Best Prancers, and several singles. Midway through the tour, the band stopped in Seattle, Washington, to record with veteran producer Conrad Uno.
