The East Pointers Information
The East Pointers are a contemporary folk music group that was founded in 2014, from Prince Edward Island. It was created by three musicians - Tim Chaisson (vocals, fiddle, drum machine), Jake Charron (guitar, synthesizer), and Koady Chaisson (banjo, tenor guitar, synthesizer). The three of them started to perform on the east coast and later in Ontario. The music of the band is defined as indie-folk.
Secret Victory was the debut album by The East Pointers that was released in late 2015. The band members promoted the album through concert performances in Canada, Australia, and the United States. What We Leave Behind was another album by the band released in 2017, followed by the latest album by entitled Yours to Break (2019). “Wintergreen” was the only single released by the band in 2019.
The group won the Canadian Folk Music Award for the category of Ensemble of the Year at the 12th Canadian Folk Music Awards, which took place in 2016. The group members were also nominated for Instrumental Group of the Year category in the same awards.
The East Pointers again were nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in 2018, for the category of Ensemble of the Year. The group won the Juno Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year in 2017 Juno Awards for their album Secret Victory.
