The Clarks Information
The Clarks is an American rock band from the Pittsburgh region that originated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The current lineup of the band consists of Scott Blasey (lead, background vocals, electric and acoustic guitars), Rob James (electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, and background vocals), Greg Joseph (background vocals and bass guitar), and Dave Minarik (background vocals and drums).
The Clarks has been actively playing music since 1996. They used to play cover versions of popular songs when they first started. The band proved their identity as a cover band in the earliest months. They began with the name “Administration,” but later changed to The Clarks, and soon the band began writing musical material. It helped them taking second place at the Tri-State Rock Competition in Pittsburgh. The Clarks also began recording their first album while some of the band members were finishing school, and others had graduated.
The Clarks teamed up with producer Hank Lawhead to record their first album. The album was recorded at Aircraft Studios and was entitled I’ll Tell You What Man. It was released on the local independent label called Dahntahn Records. After modest success, the band started its preparations for the second studio album, which was a self-titled release. The album was released on August 1, 1991, on the indie Substitute Records label.
The Clarks have released many notable studio albums including Love Gone Sour, Suspicion, and Bad Debt (1994), Someday Maybe (1996), Let It Go (2000), Another Happy Ending (2002), Fast Moving Cars (2004), Restless Days (2009), Feathers & Bones (2014), Rewind (2015), and Madly in Love at the End of the World (2018).
