During an unplanned B2B set on the Beach stage at 2016's Infrasound Music Festival, bass music DJ/producers Apparition, Johnny Foreplay, and Nostalgia gave birth to the three-headed beast known as Ternion Sound. The chemistry between the performers was palpable and impossible to miss. The three reuniting at Minneapolis, Minnesota's Origin-414 Studios proved that the festival magic that established their friendship is more permanent. The threesome changed, giving birth to a horror.
Ternion Sound has just been making waves in the dubstep world for the past two years, but its releases on labels like Duploc, Chestplate, and Silent Motion have already won over the hearts of many. Digital Mystikz, Distance, J: Kenzo, Bukez Finezt, Joe Nice, and many others have all shown appreciation for their music by lending their names to their tracks. While the group's sudden appearance at the scene has a supernatural vibe, it wasn't as sudden as the timeline makes it seem.
In 2016, every musician was a seasoned producer with a distinct sound, a wide range of musical experience, and strong ties to Minneapolis's local electronic music community. The three have been getting to know the area better today. Two of their number, Johnny Foreplay, and Nostalgia, are staples of the local electronic music scene as instructors at the renowned Slam Academy.
