The group was created with the idea of bringing back and paying tribute to one of the most infamous country bands of all time, Alabama. It is a strong cross-over seven-part harmony project where the group members are passionate about showcasing their vocals. The music of Tennessee River is defined as a traditional country, and hardcore pop.
Before the current group members founded the Tennessee River, they perform in various country and rock projects. They have been compared to such legendary bands as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Diamond Rio, the Eagles, and of course, Alabama. Tennessee River is known for its fusion of the rural and urban sounds of modern-day country and blues and a spirit of rock 'n' roll. The band performs raw and original, just like Alabama was during its unstoppable reign from 1980 thru today.
Tennessee River has toured worldwide and played with such national recording artists such as Restless Heart, Rascal Flatts, Blackhawk/The Outlaws, Ty Herndon, Lee Greenwood, Chris Ledoux, and The Bellamy Brothers.
Tennessee River received over 150 industry awards, which includes eight country music "Entertainer of the Year" honors, two People's Choice Awards, "Country Group of the Century" honors from the RIAA, 2 Grammys, "Artist of the Decade" recognition by the Academy of Country Musician, and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
