Taylor Reuben Hicks is an American singer born in Birmingham, Alabama. Hicks graduated from Hoover High School in 1995, where he used to play varsity baseball, basketball, and soccer. Later on, he went to Auburn University and pursued a major in journalism and business. Hicks was a member of the band in college called “Passing Through.” Later on, he quit this band to start a new one.
Hicks independently recorded the album “In Your Time” in 1997. This album included live tracks as well as studio tracks. He moved to Nashville in 2000 to pursue his music career. Hicks has the opportunity to work with Nashville veterans Percy Sledge and Billy Earl McClelland.
After leaving Nashville, Hicks returned to his hometown in Alabama, where he performed at different venues and parties around the Southeastern United States. In 2005, Hicks released his second album entitled “Under the Radar.” Officially, it was his debut album that was released independently on May 9, 2005.
Hicks has a long list of notable singles; some of the noteworthy hit singles include “Do I Make You Proud,” “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Just to Feel That Way,” and “Seven Mile Breakdown.” His two other albums include Taylor Hicks (December 12, 2006), and The Distance (March 10, 2009).
